Think bold. Bolder. BOLDER. Ok, not that bold. But, if you’re looking to make a statement this season invest in an outwear piece that’s worth being talked about. A bold color, an interesting fabric or texture or fringe (maybe, if you’re into it, I know I am). When going for a bolder look, I would suggest keeping the rest of your outfit subdued, keeping your underpinnings simple and accessories limited. I recently got this awesome, slightly (in the perfect way) oversized jacket by Carlos Campos from Lord & Taylor. The color is way different from what I’m use to and the texture cotton-blend material is the perfect alternative to the many wool jackets that I already own. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Carlos Campos, he’s a Honduras-born, American-based designer that launched his namesake brand in 2006. His designs are super modern, minimal and mod with attention to detail. For example, this jacket – the length, color, fabric and black panels on the collar make this basic jacket far from basic. It only makes sense that Lord & Taylor included this fashion forward designer in their new curated collection of advanced designers from around the world, a section in the store, and online, where you’ll find designers like Carlos Campos, Lucio Castro, Hans Kjobenhaven and more.
