If you asked me a year ago if I would ever wear a polo, my response to that would be “Hell No!” There’s something about a polo that reminds me of “fatherhood” or “grandpa playing golf” two things that I’m not ready for by any means. Plus, when you have skinny arms polos become are hard to find that fit your chest and arms well at the same time. This year, wait, I repeat, this year was my first time I threw on a polo (it was at a tennis clinic in Miami). After that I became more open to wearing polos, especially since it’s kinda really hot out, and kinda really necessary. The fits are getting better, and the styles are still classic, but with a modern twist (like this large navy striped polo). Currently I’ve been obsessing over oversized horizontal stripes (on shirts, shorts, sweaters, and yes, polos). So when I came across this polo from Nautica, I knew I had to have it. I coupled the polo with a pair of navy jeans, a submariner watch and white tennis shoes. Polos are back, and are here to stay. So get with it.

Agreed that a lot of polos can scream all of the above – but there are definitely some (like the one you’re wearing) that don’t.
