Cancun Living with The Ritz-Carlton

This week on…Moti Goes to The Beach.

Just kidding, except I actually did go to the beach, but this time It was the coast of Mexico! I was invited to call The Ritz-Carlton my home for a weekend in Cancun and here is how that went down.

Mexico is known to have the best service. The staff over at The Ritz-Carlton are always thinking ahead and driving defensively. While i was there I personally never felt like I needed something or I was missing anything since I already had or the staff member was right behind me with whatever it was I needed. It’s a great feeling! Especially when you’re on vacation.

5 Things to Do in Cancun:

Have dinner @ The Chef’s Table
One of the best meals I’ve had in a really long time. Chef Mara invited us into her kitchen, which was a super intimate and personal setting, where we had the chance to experience Mara doing her magic behind the counter and then tasting it. The menu for the night was Mexican, my absolute favorite, with a local touch. Mara’s presentation was exquisite, and every dish looked like a piece of art. The 6-course +17185527479meal included various wines from Mexico, ceviche, tacos and of course Mexican doughnuts drizzled in chocolate. This was one of my favorite experiences in 2017, I kid you not. Cirque du Soleil JOYà
I’ve been to Vegas many times, however, this is my first Cirque du Soleil show I’ve ever experienced. Prepare yourselves for 90 minute show packed with entertainment! The show takes place about 45 minutes outside of Cancun and offers a list of options to enjoy the show including a delicious dinner prior to the show. For more information and to book tickets, visit their site HERE.

Visit Isla Mujeres
Cancun is very much an beach town, but there are so many cool towns outside of it like Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Isla Mujeres. It’s a colorful town and a great place to hit the beach, but also there’s a big market filled with small shops and places to eat and drink.

Get a Massage @ The Ritz-Carlton Spa
The BEST massage hands down. I’ve had a dozen massages my entire life, but this one hit the ball park for me. It was a hot-stone massage by Talia (ask for her!), and it was the most soothing and relaxing experience I’ve had in a while. For more information and to book your massage, visit their site HERE.

Rent a Cabana By The Beach
If you’re looking to relax by the beach, there’s no other way to do than in a cabana by the beach. Along with beach chairs each cabana has a hammock that is perfect to lay in. Additionally, while I was on the beach enjoying a cocktail, one of the staff members was coming around giving out head massages and then placing a cold, ice cold, towel and cucumbers over your eyes. I now can tell you what heaven feels like.

Celebrating 10 years with Orlebar Brown #OBsAroundTheWorld

Orange Jack Swim Trunks, Yellow Setter Swim Trunks, Sammy Toweling Shirt –Orlebar Brown

This year marks the 10 year anniversary for the British swimwear brand, Orlebar Brown. To celebrate the new summer collection, OB Invited me to try out the new threads in sunny Bermuda. This was my second time visiting the small-yet-beatufiul island.

My first time I was exposed to Orlebar Brown was about 4 years ago in Project Las Vegas where I had the chance to customize a bespoke pair which I own till today! And, I’m not just saying this, but as a skinny guy that likes clothing fitted, I’ve never found a pair of swim trunks that fit me as well as OB.

The new collection features a new style called The “Jack,” a sporty rendition of the classic Bull Dog, see the orange trunks above, which is made out of a sporty and super lightweight nylon.

Orlebar Brown is considered the Ferraris and Bentleys of Swimwear. Their sartorial approach to swimwear set them a part from the rest of the market.  They recently launched a collaboration with Beautiful Destinations and DJ Sam Feldt.

10 Things to do in Seven Dials London

London is one of the fashion capitals in the world (amongst New York, Milan and Paris). Hundreds of thousands travel to the city to solely do one thing, that is, to shop. Some of the most biggest names came from London that you might be familiar with like Burberry, Christopher Kane, Paul Smith and Alexander McQueen. Most Londoners and tourist would go shopping in areas like Oxford Street, Bond and Regent street where stores like Selfridges and Harrods are located. One area that people tend to forget, but shouldn’t is Seven Dials London.

The area is super charming and has a range of boutique and special niche brands in addition to really great places to eat. Here are 10 things you can do in SDL.

Stay At The Radisson Blu Edwardian

Located on Mercer street and the center of Seven Dials– it is super convenient, the staff is overly friendly and just a walk from all the stores and shops that the area has to offer. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the London Eye and Big Ben, so that’s a plus too.

Get a Haircut at Murdock

And a beard trim too. Sometimes you forget or don’t have the time to get a haircut ahead of your trip, but luckily I had Murdock to tame my hair and make me look human again. Their hair products are quite good too. I actually bought a new pomade for my hair from their own line.

Have Ice Cream at Udderlicious

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice-cream. The ice-cream at Udderlicious is possibly some of the best I had in a while. It’s prepared like gelato, but is actually made with less sugar (read: less calories), so you shouldn’t feel bad when having the sweet treat.

Shop at Ron Dorff

Ron Dorff was my favorite find I came across at Seven Dials. Perhaps it was the clean and modern aesthetic or the simple, functional and timeless gear. The brand was started by a Frenchman and a Swede and offers a range of sportswear that are super versatile, so you can go straight to brunch from your morning workout at the gym. Additionally, they offer a selection of great swimmer from short shorts to speedo briefs. Currently they’re having a pop-up with Martone Cycling in their store.

Have Lunch at Cure + Cut

The food scene over at Seven Dials went beyond my expectations. After a few meetings and shooting some content a long the way, we made our way to Cure + Cut to have some lunch before jetting back to New York City. Their speciality is their sandwiches and salads. Everything tasted super fresh and was probably my best meal during my stay in London.

Stock Up Your Grooming Essentials at BEAST

I love learning about grooming products mainly because I don’t use many since my knowledge isn’t up to par in the field. BUT- it is super important to take care of your skin, hair, and all things grooming. When we visited BEAST in London it was exciting to learn about these new grooming brands, what they do and how they help you look better. What I love most about this store is it’s store that solely focuses on grooming, and offers a range of brands from all over the world.

Make Your Own Personalized Larsson & Jennings Watch

Larsson & Jennings has been on top of their game for a few years now, and if you don’t believe me, scroll on instagram for a few minutes and you’ll see the hundreds of bloggers and customers that are sporting this watch. Their store in Seven Dials is super inviting, and perfectly fits the aesthetic of the brand. You can now choose your own dial, hardware and color leather strap at the store, which I found pretty cool! (See above for the watch I made.)

Have Some Wine at CVS

CVS also known as Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels, is a cozy little french wine bar which offers, well, a lot of wine, in addition to small bites. CVS is located in Neal’s Yard which is super cool place to hang and eat. They also have a location in NYC too.

Shop at Finisterre

Finisterre is the British version of Saturday’s Surf. The brand was created over 14 years ago and offers a range of clothing that are both functional and sustainable. The collection is inspired by surf, and is innovating and stylish.  Plus, they have coffee bar!

Smell Every Single Scent at Miller Harris

Seven Dials is the place to go if you want to buy someone special or loved ones a gift for any occasion. They have these specialty stores that can’t be found anywhere else. One of those stores is Miller Harris— a Perfumer in London, all their perfumes are considered to be unisex. They offer a range of sweet, strong and fruity scents. Their latest is Le Cedre!
