Being a blogger, it is essential to have a working phone, and if you’re anything like me, you’ll need a protection plan in case of any mishaps or drops. And trust me that day will come. Living in a fast-paced city like New York, and stressing out over the smallest things can be, well, stressful. Here’s one less thing you shouldn’t worry about – your phone.

I always have my phone in my hand, which is a really bad habit, especially in NYC. The likelihood of bumping into someone and then dropping your phone, which will then lead to a cracked phone, is quite high.

I remember the first time I dropped my phone. It wasn’t my fault, actually. I hadn’t seen my sister in about month and we were meeting up for the holiday, I forget which one, but some Jewish holiday. Naturally when she saw me she jumped on me and hugged me, really hard too. At that point I was holding my phone, and her neediness caused me to drop my phone. A huge cracked-sound hit the floor. I didn’t even need to pick up the phone to know it was shattered. I felt bad because I knew she came from a good place and it was just a simple accident.

At the time, I didn’t have an insurance or protection plan to save my phone. Instead I got my iPhone fixed from a second-hand store which did an awful job, leading me to need to purchase a brand new phone. A cracked screen is one trend you don’t want to wear.

The benefit of insuring your phone is for situations like these. Verizon has a Total Mobile Protection plan which will ship you a replacement phone if it breaks or gets lost or stolen as soon as the very next day. How convenient is that? It will also save you money on cracked screen repairs (with just a $49 deductible), which is helpful when you drop your phone frequently. Plus, in many areas, a technician can come directly to you on the same day, wherever you are, to fix your broken screen. The plan also comes with unrestricted access to Tech Coach, a.ka. unlimited expert support for almost ANY question you might have about your phone.

You can enroll into the plan and start to protect your phone through July 14, 2017 — $11 a month will cover your smartphone in the case of accidents like mine!

Jacket, Shirt, Pant (Similar) – Nautica

And New York loves Nautica right back. Today, the brand opens up their doors to their first boutique store in over a decade. The store is located on 101 Prince street, right in the heart of SoHo. The store will feature an innovative element called “The Style Bar” which will help fellas view key items curated specifically to help them fulfill their curiosity. As many of you guys might already know, SoHo is one of my favorite places to shoot for my blog. So, naturally, to align with the opening of the new Nautica store, I wanted to shoot in one of my favorite locations wearing some of my favorite pieces from the brand. Currently, New York is experiencing some heavy rain, although isn’t the saying “April Showers, bring May Flowers?” Yup, still waiting for the flowers to bloom. But, until then I have my new color-block windbreaker to protect me from the dreary weather.

Jacket, Turtleneck, Trousers, ShoesTed Baker

Before I jet out of New York City for the next two weeks I had the chance to partner with Ted Baker and wear their new holiday collection. I’m typically the type to wear a suit for the holidays but wanted to change it up this season. Dressing up with tailored trousers, a turtleneck and keeping it casual with a leather bomber (but, make sure it’s not the traditional black, go for a bold festive color, like burgundy red or hunter green). Oh, and for the holiday perhaps pair it with a menorah or a xmas tree backdrop instead of the NYC skyline. Happy Holidays, kids!
